Special on Children’s Day
Today, November 14th, marks the birth anniversary of our country’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, celebrated across India as Children’s Day. To honor this special occasion, St. Stephen’s Plus Two School in Hazaribagh organized a variety of programs dedicated especially to the students.
The event began with great enthusiasm and joy. Early in the morning, the school premises were decorated with colorful balloons, flags, and flowers, creating a festive atmosphere. The students were given a warm welcome as the teachers showered them with flower petals, making the children visibly excited. Following this, the school’s teachers performed a prayer and a welcome song, setting a delightful tone for the day.
After the teachers’ performances, the students took to the stage to showcase their talents. The first presentation was a group dance that beautifully combined elements of Indian culture and modernity. Dressed in vibrant costumes, the students captivated the audience with their graceful moves. This was followed by a series of musical performances, where students sang both inspirational and entertaining songs in Hindi and English, leaving the audience swaying to the rhythm.
Fancy Dress Competition and Waste to Best
The next highlight of the program was the Fancy Dress Competition. Participants showcased their creativity by dressing up as different characters. Some portrayed Bhagat Singh, while others embodied the spirit of Rani Lakshmibai. One student dressed as a doctor to highlight the importance of healthcare, while another depicted an advocate, emphasizing the significance of legal remedies. Their costumes and performances left the audience spellbound.
Following the Fancy Dress Competition was the unique “Waste to Best” event. In this segment, students donned outfits made from discarded newspapers, polythene bags, and other waste materials and walked the ramp with confidence. This competition not only showcased the students’ creativity but also underscored the importance of environmental conservation and recycling. The audience was thoroughly impressed by the innovative use of waste materials and the students’ awareness of ecological issues.
Award Ceremony
The most eagerly awaited part of the event was the Award Ceremony. The school’s principal, Mrs. Kalpana Bara, honored students who had excelled in various fields throughout the year. Awards were given to those who had shown exceptional performance in areas such as discipline, attendance, academics, examinations, sports, arts, and cultural activities. The students received trophies, medals, and certificates as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
In her inspiring address, the principal said, “A teacher shares a profound relationship with their students. Teachers do not merely impart knowledge but also help shape their students’ personalities. Students, in turn, should show complete dedication to their school, as it is the place where the foundation of their future is laid.” She encouraged the students to draw inspiration from Pandit Nehru’s values and to strive for excellence in every aspect of their lives.
Conclusion and Vote of Thanks
The joyous day concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the school’s Academic Head, Mr. S.S.P. Verma. He expressed his gratitude to the students, teachers, and parents for their contributions in making the event a grand success. He also emphasized the importance of hard work and discipline in life and extended his best wishes to the students for their bright futures.
This Children’s Day celebration was a resounding success in every way. The students not only had fun but also imbibed the ideals and values of Pandit Nehru. The day became an opportunity not just for celebration but also for learning and recharging with new energy.
